TREMONTON, Utah (ABC4) — The two officers shot and killed while responding to a domestic disturbance call in Tremonton, Utah on Sunday, August 17 have been identified. They are Sergeant Lee Sorensen and Officer Eric Estrada.
The procession for the officers took place Monday and began at the Office of the Medical Examiner in Taylorsville at 4 p.m. From there the route proceeded north, making its way to Garland, Utah.
A third officer and a police service dog were also shot but are expected to recover.
The suspect, Ryan M Bate, 33, has been booked into the Weber County Jail and is being held on two counts of aggravated murder and one count of assault. Bate is being held without bail. The county attorney has not filed charges yet.
