AKRON, Ohio — The Akron Public Schools Board of Education has approved a new agreement that will keep school resource officers in all school buildings for at least the next two years.

The contract with the city and police department comes just three days before most APS students are scheduled to begin classes for the 2025-26 school year. It received unanimous approval from the board during a special meeting Monday without any public discission, although Board Member Summer L. Hall officially abstained.
