HILLSBORO, Oregon — One person died from injuries sustained in an early morning house fire that prompted a dramatic rescue of two residents by Hillsboro Fire & Rescue crews.
Firefighters responded to the residential fire around 4 a.m. Saturday and located both victims within four minutes of arrival, according to fire officials. Both residents were removed from the home within eight minutes of the initial 911 call.
"Firefighters from Truck 5 and Engine 5 made entry on the Delta/Charlie corner of the home to locate and remove two victims within 4 minutes of arrival," fire officials said in a press release. The rescues "were successfully made within 8 minutes from their emergent phone call."
