Jayden Daniels gave Washington Commanders fans a scare on one play during the team's preseason game on Monday night, and the star quarterback had a very simple explanation for the decision.
Daniels played one offensive series in Washington's exhibition game against the Cincinnati Bengals at Northwest Stadium in Landover, Maryland. The reigning NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year made the most of his limited opportunities.
After handing the ball off on the Commanders' first three plays, Daniels showed why he is so dangerous by rushing for a 14-yard score on what was supposed to be a pass play. He could have slid at around the 5-yard line, but he stayed on his feet and took a big hit en route to the end zone.
Confirmed: Jayden Daniels is still ELECTRIC ⚡️
