SOUTHBURY, Conn. —

One year since devastating floods swept through the Naugatuck Valley, the owner of a Southbury chicken farm is slowly rebuilding with the help of her community.

The flooding destroyed homes, businesses, and in one case, an entire farm. Cathy Dibner, the owner of Cathy's House of Chickens, lost every single chicken she raised in the disaster.

As she rebuilds, Dibner's memories of that day still linger.

"Every day I wake up, I have to look out of my window and still see all of the damage that’s still here,” Dibner said.

With all of the destruction still in her backyard, Dibner is constantly reminded of the horrors she saw that day. She said it’s like a nightmare she can’t wake up from.

"We came outside and it sounded like an ocean, like a legit ocean out here,” Dib
