A New Hampshire man accused of sexually assaulting a young child turned himself in to police in Hooksett earlier this month.

Police said Monday that 40-year-old Zachary Ackles of Hooksett had been processed on an arrest warrant on Aug. 8. He is charged with felonious sexual assault.

The warrant was issued after "an investigation involving a victim under the age of 13 years old," Hooksett police said.

Ackles was held at Merrimack House of Corrections until Aug. 11, when he was released on cash bail.
