Former New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski was in Boston on Tuesday to open the new Gronk Playground on the Charles River Esplanade.
Gronkowski arrived on a Boston Duck Tours boat around 10 a.m. and led children in a ribbon cutting at the Boston-themed playground.

The $2 million playground was paid for by Gronkowski and his Gronk Nation Youth Foundation, in partnership with the Esplanade Association and the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation.
In Gronkowski's honor, it includes a football slide "Gronk spiked" across the playground, mini duck boats and scaled-down Boston landmarks like the Boston Marathon route and the Zakim bridge, a life-sized Gronk figure for high-fives and inspirat
