LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - Four days after a Laredo Police officer was involved in a shooting that led to a man’s death, the family is still grieving and searching for answers about what happened before the encounter.
Maria Holguin was heartbroken after her 29-year-old son, Carlos Fernandez, was shot by an officer of the Laredo Police Department following a series of violent incidents .
On August 18, Fernandez’s family held protests outside the Laredo Police headquarters, demanding action and justice.
Holguin stated, “They left me without my son, they left his wife without him and they left two children without their father.” She continued, “My son wasn’t a saint, but he wasn’t meant to be killed like that either.”
