LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - During the Laredo City Council meeting on August 18, the members voted to postpone the decision on adding fluoride to the city’s drinking water.
The utilities department was asked to consider adding the mineral after several individuals voiced their concerns during public comments.
Residents expressed their concerns, with some even stating they felt forced into medication. The utilities director also mentioned that the water already naturally contains a certain amount of fluoride, which is close to the recommended level.
In the end, no votes were cast, and the topic will be revisited.
