NILES, Ohio (WKBN) -- Police and firefighters were facing off on Monday, but this time with no sirens or hoses.
Warren police officers and firefighters settled their rivalry on the diamond at Eastwood Field for the second annual charity softball game, sponsored by Disaster Recovery Services of Warren.
Organizers say the family-friendly matchup is all about fun and giving back. Half of the proceeds benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association, and the rest go to a charity of the winner's choice.
"The best part about it is our union -- any money we have goes back to the City of Warren. We've donated to the Lincoln School's soup kitchen, the St. Joseph Cancer Center, and we've bought helmets in the past for Little Raiders -- anything back in Warren," said Corky Manofsky with the Warren Fire
