CORTLAND, Ohio (WKBN) -- After a two-hour meeting with extensive public comment, the Cortland City Council voted Monday night against a proposed emergency ordinance that would have allowed Mayor Deidre Petrosky to enter an agreement with Lake Shore Strategic Consulting for assistance with a recently purchased building.
Petrosky brought on the ordinance, but she did not attend the meeting, saying she was unavailable. At the beginning of the meeting, the council voted to table the ordinance because the mayor was not present to take questions, but after hearing the public's concerns, the ordinance was put back on the agenda and defeated unanimously.
