KENTUCKY, USA — A man has been hospitalized after a reported stabbing near downtown Louisville.

According to Metro Police, First Division officers responded to the area of South First Street and Broadway around 7 p.m. Monday.

Before officers arrived, EMS told them a man had flagged them down saying he had been stabbed. They began treating the victim as officer arrived at the scene.

The man, who was alert and conscious, told police he had been in an altercation with a suspect he did not know. According to the victim, the suspect “cut” him before fleeing the scene.

EMS transported the victim to UofL Hospital. His injuries were described as minor and non-life-threatening.

Upon further investigation, LMPD said the stabbing likely occurred south of the initial reported location near Floyd
