LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Quick action by a Jeffersonville Police school resource officer and staff at Parkview Middle School is being credited for saving a student’s life.

Police said the scary moment happened on Aug. 13 just before 9:30 a.m. when the SRO was conducting a routine hallway check and a student suddenly collapsed.

The SRO alerted school staff and Clark County Dispatch. Multiple staff members arrived within seconds to help the student.

The student was unresponsive, without a pulse or breath. The SRO and staff members began CPR. Their efforts successfully revived the student’s pulse before emergency responders arrived.
