WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump said Monday he will “lead a movement” to eliminate voting machines and mail-in voting for the next election cycle, claiming those methods lead to fraud and higher costs than paper ballots.
Trump announced his intentions on his social media platform, Truth Social, saying he may sign an executive order before the 2026 midterm elections.
North Dakota Democrats criticized the proposal, saying it attacks voting rights, especially for rural residents.
