POWELL, Ohio — Delaware County parents are raising concerns about a crosswalk they say is misleading and dangerous after a close call involving two children earlier this month.

Amber Nolan said her 11-year-old son, Jay, and his friend were nearly hit by a car while crossing state Route 750 at Wellington Boulevard and Verona Drive about 10 days ago.

“They hit the button, and they waited for all the cars to stop,” Nolan said. “So they started crossing, because the first car had stopped… and then the second lane did not stop.”

Nolan said her son threw his scooter out of the way just before a car ran over it and his phone.

“The lady that was in the first car witnessed it all. She thought she was witnessing a fatal accident," Nolan said. "Before I even got home that night, there were people
