Police in Leesburg say they were called to a report of a battery at the site of the Lake County Republican Party meeting Monday night.

A Lake County Commissioner says he was barred from entering the meeting, and witnesses say a woman was hurt trying to leave.

"I have never seen anything like this. This is the most disgraceful thing I've ever seen," Lake County Commissioner Anthony Sabatini can be heard saying in a video shared by a witness.

It was outside of the Venetian Center in Leesburg, where the Lake County Republican Party was holding a meeting Monday night.

Sabatini alleges he and others were barred from entering the meeting.

"We were approached and surrounded by four FHP officers, we were told we were going to be arrested and thrown in jail if we walked in the front door," Sab
