On August 15, during the inauguration of GWM's first factory in the country, Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva highlighted the investment of 4.000 billion reais through 2026, which will generate 1.000 direct jobs by the end of that month.

The plant, located in São Paulo, marks the start of plug-in hybrid vehicle production in the Americas. The Chinese company GWM will produce vehicles that combine combustion engines and plug-in electric vehicles.
