LAS VEGAS ( FOX5 ) — After a rumored threat prompted a lockdown at a Las Vegas high school Monday morning, parents expressed frustration about the delay in notification from the school.
Durango High School parent Corey Denson described one of the messages he received from his daughter just before 8 a.m. Monday morning.
“‘Daddy the school is on hard lockdown, I’m scared, this one seems real,’” Denson said.
Denson said he immediately rushed to campus where he found dozens of first responders around the school.
“‘Are the doors locked? Is everybody’s phone on vibrate? Is it silent? Are there any lights on? Where is your teacher? If anything happens, relax, stay calm,’” Denson said, describing the texts he sent to his daughter.
