An explosion erupted on a cargo ship hauling coal in Baltimore’s harbor near the Key Bridge collapse site Monday evening, according to news sources.

The explosion, which has been fully contained, started at 6:28 p.m., Baltimore City fire officials told WBALTV11 . The ship was full of coal and had just left the CSX Coal Dock.

Baltimore City fire spokesperson John Marsh said no injuries have been reported on the W-Sapphire, a 751-foot bulk carrier that had a crew of 23 people on board.

Marsh said the carrier showed “signs of damage consistent with a fire and explosion.”

Marsh said firefighters responded by both land and water. He added that the ship will be moved to an anchorage area, where it will remain until cleared by the U.S. Coast Guard.
