The second cycle of the Rotary Club of Marion’s 2025 small grants program is approaching.

The deadline for the second cycle grant submission is Friday, Oct. 3, at 3 p.m. The Rotary Club of Marion Foundation has funds for a special small grant program for McDowell County nonprofits and service organizations.

The grants must be for specific projects that further the work of a nonprofit or service organization in McDowell County. Requests must be for at least $500 but cannot be more than $1,500. Projects must be able to be completed by June 1, 2026, according to a news release from the Rotary Club of Marion.

While the club will consider all requests, the leaders of the program are focusing locally during this grant cycle on promoting:

1. Health and human or animal welfare
