SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - Temperatures are starting out in the 70s this morning with dry roads for our morning commute.

Temperatures will warm to the upper 80s this afternoon with highs near 90 degrees. A few isolated downpours will be possible this afternoon into the evening, mainly west of I-95. Severe weather is not expected, but storms could grow tall enough to produce a lightning strike or two.

Beach conditions will be dangerous the next few days as Hurricane Erin passes well to our east. There will be a high risk for rip currents, along with wave heights reaching 5 to 7 feet over the next few days. A Small Craft Advisory will remain in effect until Friday afternoon, with even higher waves expected offshore.
