LAVONIA, Ga. (FOX Carolina) - The Lavonia Police Department reports a man is charged with murder after a man was found shot in an apartment on Monday.

Officers said they responded to Clear Creek Apartments on Clubhouse Way around 8:53 a.m.

Police report finding 31-year-old Eric Thompson deceased inside an apartment.

Witnesses gave a description of the suspect, and Georgia State Patrol found a man matching it walking near a local hotel. He was identified as Christavier Mikequez “Quez” Brown and taken into custody at the Franklin County Detention Center, according to officers.

Investigators said they are securing warrants for Brown on the following charges:

Murder

Aggravated assault

Possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime

Tampering with evidence

Anyone with informat
