ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - A mother is pleading for answers after her daughter was hit and killed in a hit-and-run on North Grand early Saturday. Police say the woman was crossing North Grand when a vehicle struck her and kept going. She was taken to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The victim’s mother, Tory Mitchell, says the loss is unbearable.

“I feel robbed. I had six girls, and I really feel robbed. She was named after me, so that’s my junior for real. Not many people have juniors, but I named her after me.”

Mitchell says her daughter had big plans, including hopes of becoming a chef, and had been happy the entire day before the crash.
