Pub goers face an "automatic" 4 per cent tip for just buying pints at the bar at a London boozer . Pub goers in England have been warned after a drinking spot in the capital placed an automatic 4 per cent tip for anyone buying pints at the bar.

The new charge means punters at the Well and Boot at Waterloo Station will now be paying an extra 30p for a pint of beer or cider. Staff are now adding an automatic four per cent "optional" charge that applies to all food and drink ordered at the bar.

Customers at the bar are greeted by a sign which proclaims: "100 per cent of all tips go to our staff". Cash acceptance campaigner, Martin Quinn, told The Telegraph newspaper of the new "stealth" charge: "You can understand it if you’re sitting down and it’s table service, but you’re ordering
