A Birmingham Poundland store that was not featured on a recently-published list of branch closures has shut down for good.

The discount giant confirmed the locations of 48 store closures earlier this week, with more planned for September.

Clearance sales were launched at 15 sites across the country ahead of imminent the imminent closure, with bosses saying the plans would 'allow us to get back on track'.

Three Birmingham stores were included on the wider closure list, with Kings Heath and Sheldon branches set to shut on August 24 and Erdington to follow on August 31.

The prominent store at Selly Oak's Battery Retail Park was not featured on the list, but has since permanently closed down.
