CRANSTON, R.I. (WLNE) — A Providence man will be arraigned this morning on first degree robbery charges after police say he stole a gun in Cranston.

According to Cranston police, an 18-year-old took his uncle’s gun and planned to give it to 19-year-old Jose Rivera.

Rivera was supposed to help him get revenge on someone who assaulted him at the Dominican festival last weekend.

Instead, police allege Rivera showed up with three men and used his own gun to make that 18-year-old hand over his uncle’s gun.

Rivera is due in court Tuesday morning at 9.

The 18-year-old and his uncle also went to the police station to admit he stole the gun from his uncle.
