Lake Brantley football has been yearning for the days of old — the days when George Clayton-coached teams dominated Seminole County.

In recent seasons the Patriots have been overshadowed by county rivals Lake Mary and Seminole, teams that have ruled their district opponents for much of the past decade. Since 2015, when the Patriots were 6-0 in district play and 11-1 overall, Lake Brantley’s record has been 44-51.

Lake Brantley — with new head coach Garrett Kruczek , the son of former UCF coach Mike Kruczek, and an influx of talent — is hoping to turn things around.
