Long before Greenville singer and guitarist Marcus King played Red Rocks, he played an annual informal gathering called the Family Reunion .

Before he released critically-acclaimed, blues-soaked albums like “Carolina Confessions” and “The Marcus King Band,” sending them into the Top 5 on the Billboard blues charts, King and company would meet once a year and play whatever tunes struck them, all night long.

Admittedly, once King nabbed a Grammy Award nomination for his album “El Dorado” and then made an album with The Black Keys’ Dan Auerbach (2022’s “Young Blood”), the Family Reunion could’ve faded into the background.
