LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — A 17-year-old has been arrested after police say two hit-and-run crashes sent multiple people to the hospital in Lexington over the weekend.

According to Lexington Police, the first collision happened around 11 p.m. Saturday near Waller Avenue and Nicholasville Road. A short time later, a second hit-and-run involving three vehicles was reported on Nicholasville Road near Canary Road.

Officers say the teenager drove away from both crash scenes. Three people were taken to the hospital, including one person with life-threatening injuries.

The teen is now charged with DUI, assault, and leaving the scene of an accident. The investigation remains ongoing.
