A new law, led through the Missouri General Assembly by Rep. Brad Banderman, R-St. Clair, and Sen. Ben Brown, R-Washington, will give the Scenic Regional Library district more financial flexibility.
Senate Bill 396 allows Missouri’s six consolidated public library districts to set their fiscal year, according to Scenic Regional Library Director Steve Campbell. Previously, the library districts were required by statute to follow a July 1-June 30 fiscal year. But Campbell said in an email most of the library’s revenue is collected between December and February. ×
