Author and journalist Scott Burnstein, an organized crime expert, sits down with Nove Tocco, a former soldier in the Detroit mob who served two prison terms, to talk about the rise and fall of the local Mafia.
At a forum in July at The Mob Museum in Las Vegas, they discussed the Detroit mob’s ownership interests in Las Vegas hotels, the use of violence, Tocco’s loansharking and involvement in bookmaking, his prison stints, and the mob culture that encouraged marrying within the Italian community.
