DES MOINES, Iowa (WQAD) - Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate has announced the results of the 2025 Iowa State Fair Straw Poll, WQAD reports .
The Iowa State Fair Straw Poll is held at the Iowa Secretary of State’s fair booth, and allows fairgoers to cast their votes for their preferred candidates ahead of the 2026 election. According to Pate, over 2,000 people participated in the poll this year.
“While historically, the straw poll has been a good indicator of where Iowa voters stand in terms of the upcoming election, the real goal of the straw poll is to encourage Iowans to participate in our election process,” Pate said in a press release. “We have a City-School election coming up on November 4.
