The community is invited to a gathering celebrating the completion of new public art at the Woodland Public Library — a sculpture designed to connect right to the community it resides in, on Wednesday at 10 a.m.
Bee’s Knees, brought to life by Woodland artist Linda S. Fitz Gibbon, is a whimsical sculpture composed of several distinct parts that, when viewed together, form a ceramic figure of approximately seven feet high by 18 inches in diameter, resting on a cylindrical pedestal at three feet high with a 20-inch-wide base.
Students associated with the Woodland Public Library, located at 250 First St., and other community members assisted Fitz Gibbon with the intricate process of creating the mosaic by installing the ceramic tile.
