GREAT FALLS, S.C. — Town administrators requested a South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) investigation of their town government because of allegations of fraud occurring in Great Falls, a town in Chester County.

The investigation was requested by Great Falls administrators over a month ago on July 7. SLED opened an investigation on July 30 and has been ongoing since.

SLED assists law enforcement agencies with difficult cases, and conducts oversight and regulatory investigations.

This is the second ongoing SLED investigation into the town of Great Falls. On June 26, the Great Falls Police Department requested SLED's assistance in a matter that happened on June 22. No further details were shared about this investigation, but an involved party said it involved finances.
