SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — A Bacon County jail officer has been arrested after an investigation revealed that he provided contraband to inmates.

Hernandez Robinson, 26, has been terminated and arrested after a Bacon County Sherrif's Office (BCSO) investigation revealed that Robinson has been providing contraband to inmates.

The jail officer worked for BCSO only four weeks before his arrest.

“This type of behavior will not be tolerated,” said Sheriff Andy Batten. “Mr. Robinson not only betrayed the trust of his fellow employees and the Sheriff’s Office, but he has committed a criminal act and must be held accountable.”
