LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A water main break that happened on Monday is still affecting Mt. Washington, Kentucky hours later.

In a post on social media , Mt. Washington Mayor Stuart Owen said the water main break happened around 3:30 p.m. Monday. It happened on the main water line that supplies the city with its water.

Crews have been on site addressing the issue, however the Public Works Director confirmed it wouldn't be fixed by Tuesday morning.

City officials said Public Works hopes to have the break fixed around 10 a.m., but it may take longer to restore water to the city.

Mt. Washington city offices will also be closed until noon Tuesday, officials said.

"We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience as we navigate this situation," city officials said.
