Michigan has won an important recruiting battle for five-star running back Savion Hiter, who announced his commitment to the Wolverines’ 2026 class on Tuesday.
Hiter was down to four schools — Ohio State, Georgia, Tennessee and Michigan — but this was really about Michigan and Tennessee. It's the second straight class Michigan has landed the top player at his position. Michigan freshman quarterback Bryce Underwood from Belleville High was the No. 1-ranked quarterback in the 2025 class.
The 5-foot-11, 200-pound Hiter, from Louisa County High in Mineral, Va., is rated the nation’s No. 1 running back in the 247Sports composite rankings. He’s also ranked the No. 9 player overall.
