An Albany man has been charged in a hit-and-run crash that killed a 93-year-old man , authorities said Tuesday.

Kemaury T. Everett, 19, was charged with second-degree manslaughter and leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death, the Cohoes Police Department said in a news release.

The incident happened Monday just before 10 a.m. Police responded to the area of Congress and Newark streets after reports of a crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.

Responding officers arrived at the scene and located a male victim, identified as 93-year-old Charles Allendorph. He was taken to Albany Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.

The driver of the vehicle had fled the scene, authorities said.
