Two adults and two children were found dead at a New Hampshire home in an apparent murder-suicide, while a toddler at the scene was unharmed, authorities said.

The victims, all members of the same family, were found just before 8:30 p.m. Monday at a home in Madbury, northwest of Portsmouth, after state troopers responded to a 911 call, the local ABC affiliate WMUR reported.

Late Monday night, the New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office confirmed that state and local law enforcement officials were “conducting an active investigation on Moharimet Drive in Madbury, New Hampshire.”

The New Hampshire State Police said in a statement shared on social media just after 9:30 p.m. ET that residents had been warned to expect an active police presence “for multiple hours.”
