MIAMI GARDENS — The Dolphins, who have been on the road in Chicago and Detroit, practiced at their home facility — Baptist Health Training Complex — Tuesday for the first time in almost two weeks. The practice was closed to fans.
It was basically a walkthrough practice, meaning players went at half speed for the entire session. There was 11-on-11 red zone work and some 7-on-7 work, but players were in shells (small shoulder pads) as opposed to full pads.
Tight end Darren Waller, who was acquired June 30 and remains on the physically unable to perform list, was spotted on the sideline. He didn’t work with trainers on the side in front of media.
The Dolphins announced after practice punter Ryan Stonehouse was waived, meaning returning punter Jake Bailey has won the punting battle.
