Countryside near King Charles' home is being stalked by a " big cat ," it has been claimed.

The large "panther" was apparently seen chasing a fox - but was scared off by a dog walker.

The witness is said to have watched the massive black feline near Tetbury - famously home to Highgrove House, the family residence of King Charles III and Queen Camilla.

According to reports, the walker's three big dogs "rumbled" the beast, which "rushed" away - effectively saving the fox's life.

The freed fox kept close to the pet-owner and her animals for safety while the predator lurked nearby.

The revelation comes after claims a driver claims to have seen a black panther by the M5 in May - sparked a debate about whether big cats are regularly prowling near our motorways.
