CLARK COUNTY, Ind. —
Lawyers for the southern Indiana man accused of killing and decapitating his father are planning an insanity defense.
On Tuesday, 33-year-old Bryce Winnecke had a court hearing, and a judge decided he would be held in jail without bond.
He arrived at court with a gash on his head, which officials say was self inflicted.
Winnecke's lawyers filed several motions before court related to his mental health. The judge granted the requests for sanity and competence evaluations.
Winnecke was arrested at his mother's house Friday on Callaway Drive in Jeffersonville after a 4-hour standoff.
He's charged with murder and abuse of a corpse.
