We've been tracking a damp and gray stretch here in Maryland, but we're expecting some big changes as we move through midweek.

After a cool, drizzly Tuesday, much of that light rain has finally tapered off as we warmed into the 70s this afternoon. The clouds, though, are holding firm. With a steady breeze off the Atlantic, skies will stay overcast tonight, and we're watching for areas of fog and drizzle to redevelop by morning. Overnight lows will hold in the 60s.

Looking ahead to Wednesday, we expect a shift in our weather pattern. A cold front will approach the region, breaking down the wedge of cool, damp air that's been locked in place.
