WASHINGTON, D.C. (WPTA) - A 50-year-old Lafayette woman was arrested in Washington, D.C., on Saturday after allegedly making death threats against President Donald Trump.

Nathalie Rose Jones is charged with threatening to take the life of, kidnap, or inflict bodily harm upon the president of the United States, as well as transmitting in interstate commerce communications containing threats to kidnap any person or any threat to injure the person of another.

Jones allegedly posted threats on social media, according to the Department of Justice. Members of the U.S. Secret Service found Instagram posts allegedly from Jones calling for Trump’s removal, labeling him a terrorist and said the president “caused extreme and unnecessary loss of life in relation to the coronavirus.”
