FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - The first window to apply for funds to help individuals and families overcome opioid and substance addiction is opening soon, Fort Wayne Mayor Sharon Tucker announced Tuesday.

Fort Wayne’s opioid settlement payments are scheduled to run through 2038. Earlier this year, Tucker and the Fort Wayne City Council partnered to create the National Opioid Settlement Committee, which includes:

Ewelina Connolly (council Appointee);

Theresa Juillerat (mayoral Appointment)

Rebecca Karcher (mayoral Appointment)

Michelle Rowland (mayoral Appointment)

Andrew Teel (mayoral Appointment)

Pat Turner (council Appointee)

Jayme Yates (council Appointee)

Committee members will make recommendations on how to use the funds, as well as explore causes for, responses to and education
