A Fort Wayne man is expected to spend decades in jail for the 2023 shooting death of a 39-year-old woman.

Devonte C. Travier, 31, has been sentenced to 95 years in prison. Last month, jurors found him guilty on all counts: murder, dealing in methamphetamine, resisting law enforcement and obstruction of justice. He faced up to 100 years in prison.

Travier was sentenced last week to the maximum 65 years for murder and 30 years for dealing in methamphetamine. He was also sentenced to two years each for resisting law enforcement and obstruction of justice, but those sentences were ordered to be served at the same time as the higher charges.

Diasha Renee Fitts of Fort Wayne died Feb. 19, 2023, after she was found with multiple gunshot wounds in a Honda Odyssey on Bluffton Road.
