A Taylor man is accused of a shooting Monday that left one of his siblings dead and injured another, police said.

Officers were sent to the 9500 block of Cass Avenue around 4:38 p.m. on a report of family trouble, according to the city police department. While en route, shots were fired at the site, investigators said.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a 60-year-old man and a 67-year-old woman with gunshot wounds, according to authorities. They were transported to the hospital, but the man died.

The woman is in critical condition, police said.

Meanwhile, a 68-year-old man was taken into custody at the scene and without incident, police said.

Police later learned the man is related to the two people shot, officials said.
