HORNELL, N.Y. (WETM) — A Hornell man was arrested on Saturday on several felony charges following a reported theft at the Walmart in the City, according to a release from the Hornell Police Department.

Joel V. Burdett, 23, was arrested on Saturday, Aug 16, on the following charges: • Two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, a class B felony. • Two counts of criminally using drug paraphernalia in the second degree, a class A misdemeanor. • Grand larceny in the fourth degree, a class E felony. • Criminal mischief in the fourth degree, a class A misdemeanor.

Burdett's arrest came from a reported larceny at the Walmart in Hornell around 1:38 p.m. on Saturday. Police arrived and found him before taking him into custody.
