MANSFIELD, Pa. (WETM) -- Mansfield Borough has issued a public health notice after receiving word of a positive West Nile Virus mosquito sample in the area.

On Tuesday, Aug. 19, the Borough announced that it had been notified by the Pennsylvania Department of Health that a mosquito sample from Mansfield Borough had tested positive for West Nile Virus.

In response to this information, the Borough noted that while this result does not mean there is an immediate health threat, residents should engage in simple preventative measures to protect themselves and their families.
