Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum expressed her categorical condemnation of the US military operations in the Caribbean Sea, near Venezuela, which have set off alarm bells in the region.

During a press conference, the Mexican president firmly stated: "No to interventionism. That's not only a conviction, it's also in the Constitution."

On August 15, the President Sheinbaum , had already taken a position by questioning the deployment of ships and aircraft of the US Armed Forces in the Caribbean Sea.

He asserted that "on this matter, our opinion will always be the self-determination of the people, not only in the case of Mexico, but in the case of all the countries of the Americas and the Caribbean."
